Congratulations to 10 Women from Broward, Dade and Palm Beach counties that qualified and received grants in time for the Holidays!  We are thankful for several corporate donations that allowed us to help these women.  Happy Holidays!!

Karting for the Kure at Xtreme - October 2011

My Candles of Hope participated and raised $500 in just a few weeks to support our friends at Xtreme Indoor Karting and their 5th Annual Karting for the Kure on October 15, 2011.  All proceeds go directly to Memorial Breast Cancer Center in Hollywood, FL.

My Candles of Hope Foundation donated $500 to Broward Health's MammoPalooza held October 10-15 at all area Broward Health Hospitals.  Our donation to Coral Springs Medical Center allowed 5 women to receive free mammograms.  Through this, we have also connected with the Lisa Boccard Breast Fund whose organization primarily focuses on the importance of breast screenings and mammograms.

 “KICK OFF TO BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH”
CHARITY CAR SHOW
If you and your family enjoy classic, fast, and unique cars and are looking for some “xtreme” family fun, please come and show your support for this great cause! Spectators are FREE. 
Fort Lauderdale, Florida – My Candles of Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization that assists low income women with breast cancer, is hosting a Charity Car Show on Sunday September 25, 2011 at Xtreme Indoor Karting from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Attending will be members of The American Cancer Society who will be registering walkers for their upcoming Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in October. BSO Police Explorers and the BSO Pink Fire truck will also be there to show their support. There will be several local car clubs, small business vendors, community members and volunteers. Spectators are FREE!
 
We are expecting over 150 cars in three categories; classic, muscle and sport compact. Registration fees for car owners who want to enter the competition are $20 before Sept 19th and $25 day of the show. All entrants are eligible to win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies per class plus awards to the Top 40 and 10 more specialty categories including Best in Show and Club Participation. Dash plaques and promotional packs will be given to the first 100 registered vehicles. 
 
Xtreme Indoor Karting will be opening early on Sunday and will be extending their family specials which include a $99 Family Four Pack – 4 Races, 4 Head Socks, 4 Race License, 4 One Hour Game Cards and 4 Rounds of Mini Golf.   Car show registered owners will also receive a $20 Gift Card. Xtreme Indoor Karting is located at 5300 Powerline Road just north of Commercial Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. (954) 491-6265.
 
Our top sponsors include: Arrigo Sawgrass FIAT, JM Custom Creations, Law Offices of Wolf & Pravato and Bright Star Credit Union. Elite Judging Group will be judging the event and Music will be provided by DeeJay Dee.
 
 
 
About Us: My Candles of Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by local breast cancer survivor, Jennifer Huckleberry. Our mission is to grant aid to women with breast cancer whose income or insurance coverage is limited and who reside locally in South Florida. We work with local hospitals, clinics, specialty shops and breast cancer centers as well as have partnered with the American Cancer Society to help women with the overwhelming financial burden that can be incurred during breast cancer treatment and the healing process.
